SHENANDOAH COUNTY PREGNANCY CENTER

¨ Provides pregnancy tests and information on pregnancy options, and parenting and financial management education. ¨ Will transport to doctor’s visits. ¨ Baby supplies and clothing, maternity clothes. Will not provide abortion referrals, but will refer to other related community services.

YOUTH DEVELOPMENT CENTER

Provide area youth with the opportunity for recreational and educational programs focused on their total development. Offer programs, activities, and organizations on their 6-acre campus, including a gym offering open play times.

VALLEY WORKFORCE CENTER

Part of the Virginia Work Force Network. Job skills training, GED preparation, job placement, career counseling. Help with applications and unemployment registration.

WOODSTOCK CLOTHES CLOSET

Inexpensive, good clothes for sale, profits to charitable organizations. Free clothes if referred by a government or non-profit charitable organization and to those in need as a result of a fire/flood.

WOODROW WILSON REHABILITATION CENTER

A program operated by the Virginia Department of Rehabilitative Services. Provides comprehensive, rehabilitative, and educational services to prepare persons with disabilities for employment and optimum independence in community living. Offers an education/employment division, health services division, rehabilitation service division, and communication services for the deaf division.

WINCHESTER UNION RESCUE MISSION, INC

Private, not-for-profit organization providing shelter to transients and alcoholic. Offer a 7-month in-house Bible-based rehabilitation program. Offer assistance in finding employment and transition into society.

WINCHESTER TRANSIT SYSTEM

Provides public transportation throughout the city of Winchester. PARA-TRANSIT (Handicapped Accessible) Business: 540-662-3982 Residency Requirements:Winchester City residents; Will provide transportation anywhere within City limits. Must give 24 hours notice, not be able to drive, and have a disability precluding use of other city transit; must apply for service (Access Independence will assist with the application).

WINCHESTER CONNECTION, INC.

Social organization for single professionals. Provides opportunities for singles to socialize, share ideas and interest in an informal setting at least once a week. Publish a monthly newsletter for members.

WINCHESTER ADDICTION SERVICES

Provide clients with the necessary tools for self-empowerment and recovery from debilitating addictions. Works with youth, adults, and families. Offers cognitive/behavior therapy and counseling for addiction to alcoholism, drugs, food dependency, gambling, extramarital affairs, and internet pornography. Routine drug testing and opiate Detox in a private setting. Free initial consultation for military personnel.

WILLOW OAKS

Drug and alcohol rehab treatment facility. AA & NA meetings onsite.
