Qualifications

We are looking for compassionate and caring volunteers. New volunteers are given 8 hours of Listener Training. Training focuses on active listening, major topics on the hotline, and local resources for callers.

Candidates are asked to interview in person and submit references. Volunteers are expected to commit at least two 4-hour shifts per month and attend on-going educational training. Shifts are flexible, and calls may be taken at home, via cell phone, or at our call center.

Concern Hotline is proud of our Volunteers…from the listeners to our special event staff. We offer many volunteer opportunities, daily, or throughout the year. Please consider giving a portion of your valuable time to our organization…and to your neighbors in their time of need!
